DIVINE LIGHT Our history began in the Fall of 1994 with members: Bobby Powell ~ Vocals & Rhythm Guitar Charles Hammond ~ Lead Guitar Rusty Chisholm ~ Vocals & Lead Guitar Dave Girgenti ~ Bass Guitar |

Our very first sharing God's Word through song was at Piney Grove Baptist Church in Acworth, Georgia. We started with some butterflies and ended up feeling we had angels surrounding us.
Later that year, Rusty left the group and the Lord, as usual, fulfilled our needs by sending Kim Powell, Gail Jackson, Randy Stennett and Kenny Jackson. Kim and Gail are sisters and their voices just harmonized perfectly. Randy Stennett played the electric guitar and sang vocals. The Lord blessed Randy and Bobby with many individual, life experiencing songs that so many of us could relate to. Kenny Jackson was our sound technician and probably the second most important of the group next to the Holy Spirit. His talent makes the voices, instruments and church acoustics sound just right.
***This website editor wants to share that the first time we saw Divine Light at a church with multiple groups, we were convinced they were professionals straight from the National Quartet Convention. Later they won a competition and the opportunity to sing with Gold City. Collectively and individually they live what they sing about -- convicted and anointed. ~deb
