DONATIONS:
If you or a business is looking for a place to make donations for tax purposes, we are grateful that Camp Twin Lakes is now accepting donations on behalf of Camp Painless But Hopeful. Donations will be earmarked for our camp. Contact the camp director HERE if you would like to make a donation and she can give you details on what should be included to make sure your donation is earmarked for camp. In Addition:
We are also accepting donations of new or used string or percussion instruments. Although the Katie Couric show put in the band room for the Blockers, it will be used by all children who attend camp at that location. They have camps there for kids with tourettes, cancer, diabetes, and the list goes on. Onva Graham will be happy to pick up instruments from anyone within driving distance. You can contact her HERE. |

The Facebook site: Must Love Tiaras has an ongoing camp fundraiser on selected jewelry:TEAM PAINLESS Fundraiser necklaces to help raise money for "Camp Painless but Hopeful" Bottle caps $8, hand stamped discs $12. 50% goes to help families afford to go to the camp!! To order, please contact Onva Graham at [email protected] --"Camp Painless But Hopeful" is a camp designated for families who live with Congenital Insensitivity to Pain. Congenital Insensitivity to Pain is a rare, dangerous genetic condition where a person is unable to feel pain and recognize necessary pain signals to alert them that something may be wrong." --We have friends who have a child that has CIP and it effects so many areas of his life. He has chronic infections like many CIP sufferers and he cannot feel them. He does not run fevers or act sick so his parents have to watch him closely for any other signs. Most patients with CIP also have many ortho problems. He has broken his ankles about 13 times, broken his nose a couple of times, broken both wrists, broken his elbow, broken his foot in 5 places, and had many various cuts, jammed fingers, dislocated toes, ruptured eardrums. None of these cause pain for him so he does not notice and will continue to use the injured body part. If his parents do not know he is injured broken bones are found after they are in various stages of healing. Parker cannot feel when water or food is too hot. He cannot tell when his food is chewed small enough so he chokes often. He has had numerous surgeries and is at the doctor or hospital usually weekly and sometimes even more frequently. Parker's illness not only effects him but his whole family, including his 14 year old brother who worries about him a lot. Having a camp the whole family can attend with safe activities for Parker has been such a blessing to them. It means so much to know they are not alone." |
