"Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a New Creation, old things are passed away, behold, all things are become new." [2 Corinthians 5:17]
New Creations was founded in 1990 by William Davis and Dale Spencer. The original group consisted of William singing tenor and playing piano. Dale on bass guitar, Mary Ann Williams singing alto, Emily Johnson singing lead, John Thomas playing harmonica, and Dean Butler playing drums.
In 1993, the group had experienced some personnel changes. William and Dale were still steadfast in their roles, but two new members had joined the ranks: Mike Jeffries singing lead and Dale's wife, Libby, singing alto. The group consisting of William, Dale, Mike, and Libby is probably the most recognized group when one thinks of the group "New Creations".
In all, New Creations recorded seven albums and had many highly requested songs such as "I'll take the Old Highway,""I Firmly Promise You" and "I'd Like to Talk It Over With Him."
In 1995, New Creations added a couple of singers who would sing a couple of songs each night. Mike's wife Betty, and William's daughter Whitney, helped to lend a slightly different sound and added a bit of variety.
In 1996 Mike and Betty decided to leave the road, and Keith Davis came in to fill the lead singer position. Keith brought with him a slightly new sound and some great new songs and recorded two albums with the group. One of the most requested songs from this time period was "Is Not This The Land Of Beulah".
In September of 1997, the mutual decision was made to disband New Creations. While each member went on to sing with other groups for a period of time, the group did reform in 2001 with William Davis singing lead, Libby Spencer singing alto, Whitney Davis singing soprano/tenor and Dale Spencer playing bass/drums.
They continued to sing together on and off until William's death in March 2006.
New Creations was privileged to sing all over the state of Georgia and in a few surrounding states, proclaiming the wonderful news of Jesus Christ. It is our prayer that over the years many lives were touched, and that many decisions were made to claim Christ as Savior.
Bio written by: Whitney Davis
Thank you Whitney for such kind words. I feel so blessed that I was a small part of New Creations, and had the privilege to sing with these wonderful men: William, Mike, Keith and my husband Dale playing bass. These were certainly some of the best years of my life, going from place to place lifting up the name of Jesus in song. Our goal was always, to be a blessing and hoping to receive a blessing in return. We met many friends along the way that supported us and prayed for us. Thank you all.
