It was quickly evident that God’s hand drew ZION together. The fellowship between the men of ZION and the personalities of each blend together in brotherly love and a spirit of joy.
In the age of music tracks, it is a blessing to offer our listeners talented musicians who deliver excitement and enrichment to each program. It is our diligent effort to promote a respectful and encouraging atmosphere in any event in which we are privileged to participate.
ZION’s desire is to encourage Christians and proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the lost through testimony and song. With a combination of Traditional Southern Gospel and Contemporary selections, it is our prayer that you will receive a blessing from the music of ZION.

...formed in the early months of 2008. Although the group is considered “new” to the area, its members consist of seasoned vocalists and musicians with many years of combined experience in Southern Gospel Music.
Greg Deese (Pianist), Adam Beavers (Percussionist), Scott Townsend (Bass) and Josh Lollis (Lead) had played and sang together with The Joymasters in previous years and set out to establish a new music ministry in Dallas, Georgia and throughout the southeast.
Mike Whitaker (Tenor) and Chris Griffith were co-founders of The Pioneers Quartet that traveled the southeast from 2001 to 2006. Mike and Chris were invited to join ZION at its inception in early 2008.
Chris Griffith has since left the group and we've added vocalist Kevin McBrayer.
With the vocal positions established, the band was completed with Tom Panter (Rhythm Acoustic) and Bo Gray (Bass Guitar).

Zion

Zion was formed in the early months of 2008. Its members consisted of seasoned vocalists and musicians with many years of combined experience in Southern Gospel Music.
Greg Deese (Pianist), Adam Beavers (Percussionist), Scott Townsend (Bass) and Josh Lollis (Lead) had played and sang together with The Joymasters. Joining them was Mike Whitaker (Tenor) and Chris Griffith (baritone) who were co-founders of The Pioneers Quartet that traveled the southeast from 2001 to 2006. Filling out the group was Clay Whatley (guitar), Tommy Panter (guitar), and 'Beetle' Fields. Shortly after its inception, Beetle stepped down and was replaced by Bo Gray at bass.
The group had a unique blend of having great musicians and singers that provided good music, along with the versatility of being able to perform music that normally wouldn't be as possible without having a full band. It was a great time of ministry and fellowship that lasted for several years.
As with groups, there were some changes over the years. Chris left in early 2011, and was replaced by Kevin McBrayer. Josh left the group in early 2013, and was replaced on lead by Joseph Dudley. In 2014, Greg and Bo stepped down, and were replaced on piano by Bryce Lee, and on bass and guitar by Andrew Hart. Two recordings were made during the time that Zion was a full band/vocal ensemble.
By the end of 2015, several of the musicians and vocalists were being led to pursue other ministries and interests, which resulted in a transformation of the group into what is now know as 'Zion Trio'. Since 2016, Zion Trio has consisted of Kevin McBrayer (baritone), Keith McBrayer (lead), and Mike Whitaker (tenor). Our first recording as Zion Trio was released in late 2020. While the group has changed, including now using tracks instead of musicians, the ministry of the group has remained the same. We travel primarily around the West Georgia/East Alabama area, to be a part of church services, benefits, and whatever opportunities that the Lord provides for us. We have been blessed over the years to have been able to provide testimony and witness through song, and as long as He provides the opportunities and the ability, we will continue His message.
